About Us

Black Is a Team Sport (BIATS) is a nonprofit movement committed to strengthening Black communities through unity, culture, and economic empowerment. Our mission is simple but urgent: without a strong economic structure, we can’t build a strong community — and that’s why we believe Black is a team sport.

At BIATS, we aim to shift how the Black dollar is used and understood. Purchasing power without purpose is a losing equation, so we’re creating a new playbook. One where every dollar spent is an investment in our people, our businesses, and our future.

To bring this vision to life, BIATS goes beyond apparel. We highlight and promote Black-owned businesses through interviews and storytelling, and we showcase the work of community organizers creating real change on the ground. Our platform also educates the public on the often-overlooked realities of Black economics — especially the importance of circulating the Black dollar within our own communities.

Through fashion, media, and education, we spread awareness and spark conversation. Every shirt, every story, every campaign is a tool to remind the world that being Black has never been a solo act — and we win by playing together.
